The General Directorate of Transport Services said Saturday that a fleet of 3,064 GREEN (Plug-in electric and Hybrid) vehicles were registered until end of July 3,044 more econ-friendly cars than in 2012, when only 20 such vehicles were registered in Albania.

The Transport Services Directorate said in a press release that 347 100%-electric cars were registered for the first time between January to July 2022.

The Transport Services Directorate reimburses every first-time registration tariff for the electric and plug-in vehicles under a government plan to provide tax incentives, including elimination of VAT on the eco-friendly vehicles.
