In his address to the “Road to April 25 – THE HEALTHCARE WE WANT” event, Rama said that “the COVID-19 pandemic did not catch us off guard, on the contrary it found prepared.”

“We chose to defend ourselves, all together as a people, we imposed a lockdown, but we, as the people who have entrusted us with the direction of this country, worked day and night to arm ourselves as well as possible, while the invisible enemy was spreading among us,” said Rama.

Thanking the medical professionals for their efforts to cope with this situation, Rama said that, “this is the moment to tell the doctors and nurses, first of all those who fought on the frontline, but also all the others who did not line up despite their position and their profile but have been from the onset and remain to this day part of the front line war. Thank you very much, a lot of respect, a lot of gratitude, because without you it would have been impossible.

On the other hand, Rama added, “we have done everything we could for you, not everything we wanted. You deserve more and above all, you deserve not only our respect and gratitude, but the respect and gratitude of every Albanian who must separate your whole body, all your heroism, all your sacrifice, from agitation and legitimate disgust at those cases when amoral beings among you betray the mission and tarnish the image of medical professional. ”
