TIRANA, July 18 /ATA/Minister of Economy, Culture, and Innovation Blendi Gonxhja, took part in a meeting held today in Berat, where Prime Minister Edi Rama met with representatives from the technology, innovation, and startup communities to discuss the journey so far and the challenges that lie ahead in achieving “Albania 2030” within the framework of European Union integration.

In his address, Gonxhja emphasized that advancing the country’s innovation ecosystem is a key priority for the Ministry of Economy, Culture, and Innovation, highlighting the importance of fostering cooperation among public institutions, the private sector, and international partners to ensure a more sustainable and competitive environment.

He stated that the advancement of this mission relies on three key pillars: reinforcing the legal and institutional framework, supporting innovative businesses, and integrating into European networks.

He underscored that “a comprehensive approach—with a well-defined strategy, allocated budget, and unified monitoring mechanism—is crucial to ensure institutional alignment and to secure innovation’s rightful role in the country’s development.”

“In this framework, we are finalizing the primary legislation on innovation, which sets out clear guidelines for how the ecosystem will operate. Meanwhile, the draft laws on credit bureaus and crowdfunding are designed to ease access to financing for individuals and businesses, fostering entrepreneurship and driving technological advancement,” said Gonxhja. /j.p/sm/
