TIRANA, December 29/ATA/ The number of road accidents decreased during the first 11 months of the current year.

General Director of the Road Transport Service Blendi Gonxhe argued that the main reason for reduction of the number of road accidents was a better preparation of candidates at driving schools, educational and awareness-raising programs and activities, reform of regulatory acts and punitive measures, as well as infrastructure investments with an improved sign table.

“The 11-month data and projections show the most positive year in terms of the number of auto accidents. There is a decrease in the number of accidents, a decrease in fatalities, a decrease in the number of the injured from accidents and improvement of road safety for all road users “, said Gonxhe.

According to him, statistics clearly show that a much better work with the qualification of new drivers, educational and awareness-raising programs and activities, reform of regulatory acts and punitive measures and investments in infrastructure are producing tangible results.

“At present, while there is an extraordinary increase of road users, drivers, passengers and road vehicles, but also riders and pedestrians, there are less and less accidents and victims,” he said.

During January-November period, there were recorded 1257 road accidents, 20.5% less compared to 2018 and 7.8% less compared to 2019.

According to General Directorate of Road Transport Services, during the 11 months of the current year, there were recorded 1064 accidents due to behavior of the driver, or 16.3% less compared to 2018 and 8% less compared to 2019. /j.p/p.s./

TIRANA, September 13 /ATA/ General Director of Road Transport Service Blendi Gonxhe appealed to drivers to repair their vehicles before going for technical inspection, as their cost will be increased because no vehicle will pass without meeting the technical conditions.

Gonxhe pointed to a significant example of a vehicle that was rejected several times and that passed the test only after it was repaired and completely normalized, technically and aesthetically.

“Few people still believe that they will be able to pass the Technical Control because for years they “passed” it peacefully with some bribes. But, it is now clear that today the test is no longer like yesterday, so the reaction has begun. Citizens are behaving differently with their means, with their lives, with the law. We identify them because we want these cases to give the right message to all owners of road vehicles “, he said.

According to him, vehicles that fail to meet the technical conditions can no longer pass the test.

“Repair the vehicles within the legal deadlines! Check the vehicle before every trip. According to the Road Code you are directly responsible if you move into the traffic with a road vehicle with technical or functional defects. Penalties provide for measures, fines, suspension of licenses and even permanent removal of the vehicle from circulation”, he said. /a.a/p.s./

TIRANA, May 18/ATA/ The Regional Directorate of Road Transport Services in Tirana (RDRTS), is an example of the transformation of quality service to the citizens according to the best standards and models.

The Albania’s Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku accompanied by the head of Regional Directorate of Road Transport Service, Blendi Gonxhe visited today the up to the standards premises of this center, where services are offered without long queues and above all with lower cost and high standards for all citizens.

In her remarks, Minister Balluku said that, “this investment is a meaningful proof of the difference between the old building and the new one which underwent reconstruction.”

“Thanks to the investments, this center already offers a one-stop service, where all the procedures of vehicle registration, RSP certification are performed, including the vehicle ownership transfer, even without a notary ,” Gonxhe said.

“This is a very important step started since 2019, after long discussions with notaries at that time, giving priority to the citizen, thus as long as we are within the legal conditions and offer the citizen faster services at lower prices it will continue to prevail and therefore the service of vehicle ownership transfer has already been facilitated,” Minister Balluku said.

Through the service of replacing the tinted windows and license plates, being offered in this center, an annual fund has been created estimated at 3 billion ALL, a considerable amount of which goes for new investments in aid of all citizens.

Following the intervention works on this directorate during the last year, 767 078 services have been provided to the citizens. //a.i/
