You tell these stories without prejudice, without selling the evil as Albanian in commercial films. This is a big turning point for us as Albanian filmmakers. Congrats brother, shine on!”, wrote Mustafaraj.

This film is expected to be one of the most important cultural events of the year, bringing big names like Danny Glover to the Albanian screen.

Glover said that during the voting process there were noted several incidents.

“We noticed family voting in some polling stations and people who did not know how to proceed during the voting process. There were some areas where it was quite clear that some manipulations were taking place. We saw people coming around the polling stations,” Glover said in the press statement on the preliminary election findings.

Asked by the reporters if these situations affect the outcome of the election, Glover said that it will be seen which cases will be brought to court to see the impact on the outcome of the election.

Glover was also asked about the winning candidate in Himara, Alfred Beleri, who is in prison on charges of vote-buying.

“Of course, we hope that there will be held the relevant legal procedures and they will give the result in accordance with the law. This is what we want to see”, said Glover.

I would not have imagined that actors like Danny Glover would come to our city to shoot films, and prestigious platforms like Netflix promote Tirana’s reputation. On his part, Actor Denny Glover said that he felt very welcome in Tirana and is looking forward to his next visit.

“I have the opportunity to talk about the special visit I paid here in Albania and also how much I appreciate the people I work with. Being known is one thing, but being respected and loved is something else, and I am a friend of the Albanian people. This visit will not be my last here in Albania”, said Glover.

Meta said that during the meeting they discussed concerns related to the realization of free and fair elections for the local government on May 14.

“I shared with Glover the concern regarding the lists of voters and the stance of the Ministry of the Interior and the CEC, which have created problems related to their deliberate change so that to create confusion among voters, violating the law and the 20-year consolidated practice for the elections”, said Meta.

Meta said that he had expressed to Ambassador Glover the willingness of the opposition to contribute for a free, fair election process and to achieve the highest possible standards in the elections. /p.s./

Glover said that implementation of the law is very important and expressed the belief that the election process will abide by all the democratic practices that the OSCE wants to see from Albania, where candidates should play on equal terms and voters should choose freely.

“All OSCE member countries have expressed support for the stance to hold elections in accordance with these standards. We will pay special attention to these elements: the work of the electoral administration and the implementation of previous recommendations, the spirit of the campaign, the participation of women in the electoral process and the participation of minorities.

We will carefully look at the way the election campaigns were financed and the resolution of disputes related to the elections. The implementation of the law is as important as the law itself. And for implementation, there is required a will. We are interested to see if the process is in line with the OSCE. Let us all have confidence in the electoral process. For the process to have integrity, voters will be able to make real, well-informed choices between different candidates”, said she.

According to her, there will be 13 legal experts for the elections and 24 long-term observers who will be distributed throughout the country, where they will monitor and be informed about the progress of the May 14 process, and then they will be joined by the EP delegation and representatives of others.

In regard to Prime Minister Edi Rama’s decision to salary increases and pensioners’ bonuses, she stated that this issue is one of the most important areas that must be observed. “We will pay attention and we will observe this field”, emphasized Glover./p.s./
