Speaking during an interview for ATA, Lezha Mayor Pjerin Ndreu highlighted some fields of cooperation that this twin-relations agreement will affect.

Holidaymakers from Gjakova chose Lezha beaches every year while they positively assess the service, cleanness, but even culinary and historical tourism.

Hence, according to Ndreu, this cooperation will focus on promotion of social, economic and tourism activities.

Ndreu also said that the idea of establishing twin-like relations was initiated by Gjakova municipality.

“The twin-like relations aim at promotion of cooperation in fields of common interest like cultural heritage, tourism, education and others”, said Ndreu.

The agreement also aims at easing the cooperation between the two sides.

Lezha mayor said that in this context it is aimed at launching initiatives that urge tourism and support development of social and economic sectors.

Ndreu also mentioned education, cultural and sports activities.

Mayor of Lezha expressed his belief that continued cooperation in these areas will bring numerous benefits to citizens and will contribute to the sustainable development of the region./r.e//a.f/p.s./

This will be the first meeting of prime ministers Albin Kurti and Edi Rama after the latter’s proposal of a draft for the Association of municipalities with a Serbian majority in Kosovo.

According to the agenda, the meetings will start at 11:00, when the delegation of the Government of Albania is expected to arrive in the country, reported KosovaPress.

The opening of the plenary session of the meeting of the two governments Kosovo – Albania will take place at 11:30 in the City Library, in Gjakova.

The family photo is planned at 12:40.

At 12:45, in the venues of the “Hadi Shehu” city theater there will take place the signing of intergovernmental agreements.

While the joint media conference of Prime Ministers Albin Kurti and Edi Rama will be held at 1:15 p.m., in this theater hall.

The agenda also includes tributes at the Tombstone of the Martyrs of Gjakova, at 1:45 p.m.

Veliaj gave the “Clock Tower” as a present to mayor Gjini and said that he is happy that Gjakova has changed a lot in recent years thanks to his work and dedication.

On his part, Mayor of Gjakova also congratulated Veliaj for the transformation of the Albanian capital. “Tirana is the capital not only of Albania, but of all Albanians. We all love it. In Kosovo, we see that Tirana is becoming more beautiful every day and we are feeling good. It makes all Albanians feel that we are not a place behind God’s back, but we really have something to show to everyone,” Gjini stated.

Veliaj invited Albanian youth everywhere to join in Tirana next year.

“I am looking forward for the year of youth we have in 2022 when we shall turn Tirana into an epicenter that promotes all young people, not only in Albania, but all Albanians, even if they are in Gjakova, Mitrovica, Podujeva, or Pristina wherever we have the opportunity to promote them.
