TIRANA, March 23 /ATA/ The Director of the Albanian Power Corporation, Ergys Verdho, stated on Wednesday that electricity supply has been uninterrupted in the country.

“If we refer to the figures, the data show 537 gigawatt in January, of which 40% are imports and 60% are domestic production of energy. In February, imports increased by 5% due to shortfall. In March, 328 gigawatt were delivered, of which 274 gigawatt produced and another 47 gigawatt purchased in the market. March recorded an exponential increase in energy prices, up to 550 euros. Cascade management has continued with long-term production and purchases. In February the company favored the energy reserve by increasing it by 228 gigawatt-hour. Currently, the hydroelectric reserve is 290 gigawatt-hour and by adding the pre-purchased capacities we get close to the multi-year average of the hydro reserve which is 518 gigawatt. In meters we translate it into 12 meters plus. So today with our pre-purchase we have reached the quota of 271 m above the sea level, “Verdho said.

Verdho announced that the inflows for this period are 50% less than the multi-year average for the period. However he noted that the situation is expected to be improved due to the rainfalls that are forecast to sweep the country by the end of this month and earlier next month.
