During their visit to so-called the city of one above another windows, German officials and politicians were welcomed by Berat Mayor Ervin Demo.

“The visiting delegation includes city council members, advisors, chairmen and other high-level officials and as such they are not common visitors. They are personalities with an expertise on the dynamics, the challenges, the efforts and the work to govern a city,” Mayor Demo said.

He said that German politicians had visited Tirana, Vlora, Gjirokastra, Saranda and Berat is their last stop during their visit to Albania.

The museum city of Berat in south-western Albania, a UNESCO world heritage site, remains an important destination for both local visitors and foreign tourists from all over the world, including a growing number of German visitors.

The 2400-year old city, also known as the city of one above another windows because of the with tiered houses on the slopes that are predominantly horizontal in layout, remains an important tourist destination that attracts local visitors and international tourists from all over the world interested in history, ancient and medieval architecture.
