German business has significantly increased investments in Albanian economy in recent years.

The Bank of Albania said Saturday that German investments were valued at over 21 million euros in the first half of 2021, from only one million euros estimated during the same period of the previous year.

German enterprises operate mainly in Albania’s energy, tourism and environment.

Germany is cooperating with the Albanian government to promote development of a socially and ecologically sustainable market economy. Since 1988, Germany has provided funds amounting to over 1 billion euros, a contribution that makes it one of Albania’s most important donors in bilateral ties.
