The same is expected to enter into force on May 15 of this year, while Kosovars will be able to move without visas in the countries of the Schengen zone from January 1, 2024.

The decision to liberalize visas for Kosovo was signed on April 19 at the headquarters of the European Parliament.

A day earlier, the EP approved the decision on visas, an action that concluded the decision-making procedure.

There was no objection to approval of decision.

After visa liberalization, citizens of Kosovo will be able to travel up to 90 days, in a period of six months, in all countries that are members of the Schengen zone.

The visa-free regime does not mean a work permit, but Kosovars will be able to make tourist or family visits.

The European Commission confirmed in 2018 that Kosovo had delivered on all the requirements for free movement.

However, the citizens of Kosovo are the only ones in the Western Balkans who cannot travel freely in Schengen./KosovaPress/sm/
