Taking another step towards a freer city that is more convenient for residents and businesses, the Municipality of Shkodra has held the next meeting as part of the regional project “Gateway of the Alps.” This time, the focus is on Velipoja beach, one of the main tourist spots of the city.

The Deputy Mayor of Shkodra, Onid Bejleri, stated during the meeting that this plan focuses on improving the lives of residents and boosting economic development in tourist areas.

“Velipoja beach is a rich natural and cultural-historical treasure, and with this plan we aim to build an appropriate infrastructure that will enable sustainable tourism and use of the territory throughout the year,” he said.
The initiative comes within the “Gateway of the Alps,” a project that aims to strengthen economic resilience in the region by upgrading infrastructure and creating new opportunities.

“Discussions and feedback from stakeholders are key to drafting this strategic plan. Thanks to a joint commitment, the 1st Urban Mobility Plan will begin to be implemented within 6 months”, said Bejleri.
