This title was given to him for his extraordinary commitment and contribution to the promotion of local community values.

During the event for extending the title, Mayor Juliana Memaj said that Dimal municipality had been pursuing a strategy for promotion of the area’s products.

“We are a small municipality with a predominantly rural character, notable for its products thanks to the hard work done by the area’s farmers. And in this particular case, I am delighted that in the last wine competition, thanks to the sommelier whom we have, “Citizen of honor”, Luca Gardini, our wine was declared one of the five best wines in the world in Milan”, stated Memaj.

Luca Gardini praised the Albanian hospitality as well as the cuisine and wines of Albanian producers.

“It’s a great honor for me every time I come here because I feel at home, I try a lot of good wines and also a lot of good food and I always feel welcomed”, underlined Gardini.

Petrit Çobo, wine producer in the municipality of Dimal, expressed his excitement not only for the evaluation as one of the five best wines, but also for the efforts that have been made for the image of Albanian products everywhere in the world.

The title “Honorary Citizen” given to Luca Gardini comes as a sign of recognition of his tireless efforts to promote the values of the Dimal municipal community.
