TIRANA, September 3 /ATA/ Chairman of the Democratic Party Sali Berisha stated today that according to Eurostat statistics, Albania is today the country with the largest gap between the maximum and minimum salaries.

During a press conference, Berisha said that, “Present-day Albania is the country with the largest gap between the maximum and minimum salaries of Albanian citizens. Eurostat finds that the minimum salary in Albania from 2023 up to today has remained the same, 408 euros”.

Meanwhile, the DP leader added that the net salary of the head of SPAK Altin Dumani is 7 thousand euros, 15 times higher than the minimum salary.

Meanwhile, Berisha continued, “While the minimum salary since 2023, as Eurostat stated, is a total of 408 euros, the high salaries have increased by 30-40 percent”.

Berisha added that, “This gap in Albania is among the largest in the world. In Europe yes, but even in the world”.

Berisha also stated that, “On the one hand, the minimum wage does not increase, but on the other hand the prices are stratospheric.

Berisha said that, while Albania has the maximum wage, no person in the Balkans, no president, no prime minister, no judge, no prosecutor receives the salary of the head of SPAK, Altin Dumani”.

According to him, “the salary of 7 thousand euros is not recognized in the Balkans. Berisha emphasized that Eurstat says that if from 2023 to 2025, the minimum wage has not increased, the prices are stratospheric”.

So, Berisha continued, “The minimum wage remains the same, at a time when all hygiene products, all food products increase above the average prices in the EU. This is the truth”. /gj.m/r.e//a.f/p.s./

TIRANA, August 28/ATA/ Albania ranks first in the Balkans, among the first in Europe and the 23rd in the world in the Global Gender Gap 2024 report, an index that measures gender equality between women and men in 4 key areas.

Socialist MP Evis Kushi, at the same time party Secretary for Women, considered this ranking a very optimistic news.

Kushi emphasized that, “According to the World Economic Forum, this index measures gender equality through 4 indicators: participation and economic opportunities, educational achievement, health and political empowerment”.

“As never before, present-day Albanian women and girls are represented and contribute to the highest leadership levels of politics and decision-making, but support for them must continue in every sector and in every corner of the country, so that to build a better, fairer and more advanced society”, she added. /m.m/p.s./
