Xhaçka said that a large part of the municipalities, and especially the municipality of Përmet, has a level of absorption of foreign funds that is extremely beneficial for citizens.

“Regarding the opening of accession negotiations, we should all approach this moment with more responsibility, with more work and passion, establishing cooperation with each of you to have a great deal of coordination, training, increase in administrative capacities to absorb the financing in this new phase of the negotiations,” she said.

“Of course, we are all committed to doing such a thing, including the MEFA and the Agency for Strategic Coordination of Aid, which is responsible for the management of IPA funds for the implementation of this program, but also other institutions that have special responsibilities in this process such as the Ministry of Agriculture, with IPARD 3 which has a leading approach to development strategies which will help you design the necessary strategies and strengthen administrative capacities to be able to absorb these new sources of funding, to build a much better coordination and make this whole approach successful for you,” she said.
Speaking about the Greek minority, Xhaçka said that “I am glad that from the beginning we made sure to maintain good and healthy relations, respecting all the features of a national minority.”

“We have also passed the law on minorities, which recognizes rights and guarantees that were not recognized before, which is a development that sat well not only with the minority, but also with international partners,” said Xhaçka.
