The Minister emphasized that thanks to serious interinstitutional cooperation, we have achieved significant results by addressing 51 out of 64 critical gaps in the Fundamentals cluster, while the remaining issues are in an advanced stage of the process.

Meanwhile, Lamallari stressed that the Justice Reform still needs further consolidation, while significant steps have already been taken in strengthening judicial independence, safeguarding fundamental rights, ensuring media freedom, and aligning criminal legislation with European Union standards.

“2026 remains another challenging year for the course of negotiations and for our irreversible path toward fulfilling Albania’s aspiration of joining the European Union,” declared the Minister of Justice.
