According to Berisha, EU member states subsidize fuel for farmers, adding that “Germany increased its subsidy this year, and other countries are expected to follow suit.”

Berisha criticized the claim that Europe no longer subsidizes fuel, calling it a cynical and deceptive statement that misleads around 40% of the Albanian population.
He emphasized that the fuel subsidy should be reinstated, scraping any taxes on it not only for farmers but also for public transportation.

“You’ve been informed that the bus lines have reduced their operation capacity by 40 percent, which explains the reason we need to urgently intervene at this point to subsidize farmers,” Berisha added.
