Vata/ – Albanian capital Tirana will host the Francophone Youth Parliament by end of July, Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj said while attending the  47th Francophonie Parliamentary Assembly (APF) being held in Kigali, Rwanda.

“It is a great pleasure for Tirana to welcome the Francophone Youth Parliament by end of July – a special occasion especially now that Tirana is also the European Youth Capital. The decision was made in Kigali, where I was on a 24-hour visit, a very exciting one for me personally. I have been living in this city 20 years ago and I witnessed the fact how every nation can change,” Veliaj said.

“I am very happy that Francophone young people from dozens of countries across the world will be in Tirana in the next few days and Tirana will both become the European and Francophone city,” Veliaj said.

The APF’s annual session is being held in Kigali under the theme “World governance: the role of parliaments for lasting peace” and it brought together 300 MPs and senators to discuss and adopt joint resolutions on various issues.
