TIRANA, December 9/ATA/ Director of the Armed Forces Museum Niko Kotherja, both a historian and a collector, has successfully recovered audio from a damaged disc featuring the voice of Father Gjergj Fishta.

This is one of the few genuine, surviving original discs. Niko Kotherja told ATA that the disc was useless, broken into three parts.

The historian explained that in its original state, it was impossible to hear the voice and that a great deal of work was needed to put the three parts together and to ensure the disk is read correctly. In this way, the great Fishta was resurrected through his voice.

Asked about technical details of the restoration, Kotherja said that the restoration was carried out in Korça, using efficient methods and at the same time creating the most favorable ground for reproduction on the gramophone. The disc still needs a final intervention, to eliminate noise, and then the moment will come to digitize the content of both sides.

“What you see is one of the only authentic copies of the disc that has reached to our days, where the original voice of the colossus of Albanian letters and thinker Father Gjergj Fishta is recorded. As far as I know, other original copies of this disc have been limited, so not a high circulation like other music discs that were sold at that time”, said Niko Kotherja.

He explained that, after a long time of work, now one can hear in almost 7 minutes the voice of the colossus reciting two of the songs of his masterpiece “Highland Lute”.

The disc, recorded in Shkodra, is believed to date back to 1937 or 1938 and is the only audio material of Father Gjergj Fishta so far. It is part of the collection of historian Kotherja, along with hundreds of other audio evidence dating back to period before World War II. The other discs contained in this collection are diverse, such as folk music, patriotic songs, audio recordings of personalities, such as Aleksandër Moisiu, etc.

It is worth noting that part of this collection are all the recordings on discs of the “Flag Anthem”, from 1918 to 1952. This collection contains recordings made by record companies in Italy, America, France, Turkey, etc.

Niko Kotherja told ATA that there will be a presentation of this recording, which may come on an anniversary of Fishta or during events in which he was a protagonist, such as the Manastir Congress. /a.f/p.s./

TIRANA, October 24/ATA/- In the month of Franciscan pater Gjergj Fishta’s birthday anniversary, the Municipality of Lezha together with all the residents and guesthouses of Fishta village have opened their doors to welcome everyone with the phrase: “Welcome, God has brought you.”

“Fishta Poetry Trail” is a magical journey through the words of Pater Gjergj Fishta, where the entire village of Fishta opens the doors of its houses and guesthouses to welcome friends, visitors and lovers of poetry and traditional gastronomy.

Prime Minister Edi Rama has published in the social media today a video message from the local residents of the village of Fishta, from where, the month of Pater Gjergj Fishta’s birthday anniversary gets transformed into a poetic journey among tradition, verses and Albanian hospitality.

The trail starts near the house where Pater Gjergj Fishta lived, at the memorial, guesthouses, farms, restaurants and even the houses of Fishta people. During this itinerary, you can read hundreds of verses of the Albanian Homer.

Throughout the path, you will be accompanied by the hospitality of the residents and inns offering traditional local products, and this poetic and spiritual journey continues along the beauties of the village.

The Franciscan pater, poet, translator and writer Gjergj Fishta is one of the authentic and direct successors of the National Renaissance, an exponent of patriotic and democratic ideals in the conditions created in the twentieth century, and this is also visibly expressed in the ways of reflecting life in his creativity, as a natural continuation of the literary technique of the Renaissance, where romanticism, realism and classicism prevail.

The great writer who left the Albanians the magnificent work “The highland lute”, was born on October 23, 1871, in the village of Fishtë in Zadrima.

Gjergj Fishta was the first Albanian writer, nominated for the ‘Nobel’ prize, a prose writer, poet, translator; “Militant of Albanian literature” – as appreciated by great port Lasgush Poradeci and “National poet of Albanians” by outstanding linguist Eqrem Çabej.

The various combinations of mythology with reality, the severity of the style, the powerful philosophical thought, the dramatic nature of the work have led Fishta to be compared in this field with Goethe and Dante. /p.s./

TIRANA, August 12/ATA/ Not only the coast and natural beauties, but also the traditions, culture and life in rural areas are attracting more and more foreign tourists interested in getting acquainted with the country.

“Mrizi i Zanave” (The Shade of the Fairies), a well-known agrotourism in the Fishta area, has chosen an original idea to promote the traditions of the area, directly involving foreign tourists in the process of preparing winter food supplies.

In the published video, it is seen as French tourists have joined the staff of the “Mrizi i Zanave” in the process of preparing dry tomatoes.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared the video of this initiative in the social media appreciating it as impressive.

“At the “Mrizi i Zanave”, tourists prepare winter food supplies,” Rama wrote alongside the footage.

The agrotourism complex is located just 10 km from Lezha, in the village of Fishta, in the heart of Zadrima, known as the birthplace of the great poet Gjergj Fishta.

The agrotourism complex, built by a local family that returned from several years of emigration in Italy, with the aim of promoting the products of the area, attracts thousands of local and foreign visitors every year. The tourists enjoy the dishes prepared with local products, but also have the opportunity to experience life in the village from very close. /m.m/j.p/p.s./

TIRANA, December 30 /ATA/ Chairman of the Democratic Party Lulzim Basha reacted today to the statements of Prime Minister Edi Rama during the year-end press conference.

Basha reacted on Twitter reminding a quote of a great man, Father Gjergj Fishta.

“Ignorance and pride go together like stature and shadow,” Basha said.

At the year-end conference, Prime Minister Edi Rama said that, “Lulzim Basha is one of the two sides of a folly that is leading the Democratic Party to a deserved end. It is an end prepared for years, neither by me nor by us, neither by you, nor by those Albanians who believe and vote and support the DP and from which they have not benefited anything, but like the fans of a football team, they do not abandon their team even when it does not win the championship ”. /j.p/p.s./
