Congratulating the police for dismantling an ammunition base in Sukth, Durrës, Balla says that the law enforcement forces are combating the phenomenon of illegal possession of firearms day to day.

“The State Police are attacking the phenomenon of illegal possession of firearms every day. Congratulations to the local directorates of Durrës and Tirana for dismantling another base that supplied firearms to criminal groups,” Balla writes.

“Dismantling the networks that supply criminal groups with weapons or arresting citizens who move in possession of firearms are among the main tasks of the Police”, underlines Balla.

Minister Balla reacted after the Durrës Police announced the finalization of the “Hills 2” police operation.

“In the follow-up to successive police operations, with a focus on cracking down on illegal possession of weapons and preventing their use by the criminal contingent, the specialists of the Section against Illicit Trafficking, in cooperation with Durres Police Directorate, based on police intelligence information, obtained in the follow-up to the “Rule of Law” mega-operation, organized and finalized the police operation dubbed “Hills 2”, informs the Durres Police.

“The operation in Sukth discovered an arsenal of firearms, a large amount of cartridges of different calibers and other illegal items, which were suspected to serve criminal groups,” the announcement says.
