Mayor Erion Veliaj praised the work of the firefighters, but also expressed his gratitude to the citizens, who acted in time to avoid any possible risk from the flames in the capital.

Thanks to this, Veliaj added, Tirana did not even have problems with potable water supply during the month of August.

“I want to thank all my colleagues, especially my fellow firefighters because it was probably the best year for Tirana and thanks to vigilance, the flames were detected in time, so I want to highly appreciate the work of every firefighter, including the volunteers, or community liaisons who notified us in time to promptly intervene for fire protection,” Veliaj said during the visit to “Rruga e Malësorëve” in local government unit 1, a street which has been refurbished.

Mayor Veliaj appreciated the fact that it was the first August which saw no problems with water.
