In an update about the situation of fires in the country, the Ministry of Defense states that “for days numerous operational forces, troops of the Armed Forces, firefighters, civil emergency crews and local services are working on the ground to extinguish fires in different locations across the country. Despite the uninterrupted work, some fires continue burning.”

Another destructive fire is raging on Mount Rruna, above the Kalimashi tunnel, where work is ongoing to contain the flames which threaten the houses nearby. In the village of Thirrë in Fan of Mirdita, the fire does not pose a danger to houses, while work is underway to extinguish it. The fire in the village of Munella-Domgjon has been brought under control on one side, but work is ongoing on the other side.

As of yesterday, work is underway to extinguish the flames that are sweeping through the pine forest in the village of Krushovo, the administrative unit of Voskopoja. Since early morning, the response forces from the Armed Forces, firefighters and other structures of the municipality of Korça and neighboring municipalities have been battling the blaze.

Yesterday the fire situation was critical in the village of Patalej, administrative unit of Kolsh, Mirditë municipality. The wildfire continues raging, while the operational forces have been reinforced.

In the village of Çorrush in Mallakastër, two fires have been contained but the work is ongoing to put out three other blazes which are on rough terrain.

In the village of Bogë, the administrative unit of Shkrel, another blaze has flared. It does not pose any danger to the houses.

A wildfire broke out in Tomori Park at the altitude of over 1500 m, but the local fire-fighting crews are on the ground to bring the situation under control.
