Culture Minister noted that thanks to the donations and cooperation with a number of partners, wok is underway to restore the Film Archive collection as part of the country’s cultural heritage.

The Central State’s Film Archive of Albania (CSFA) is the legal custodian of the Albanian cinematographic production started from the year 1947 and onwards, largely consisting of the productions from one single state-owned entity, the “New Albania” studio, which started its activity in 1952 and was closed in 1992.

In addition to the film collection that includes the original negative copy and an archive copy of the original film, the central archive stores and maintains other material that are of relevance to the history of the productions, such as film scripts, director’s notes, editing lists, photographs, negatives of the photographs, promotional materials, soundtracks and notes of the soundtracks, and posters.

The original documentation also entails bibliographic and reference information, press materials, publications related to the films, photos from the history of the cinematography, biographical data on Albanian film directors, documentation on the equipment used and everything that is related to film history.
