TIRANA, July 22/ATA/- Mark Nika and Rajmonda Nika, the uncle and wife of the late Aleks Nika, who was killed in the protest of January 21, 2011, have appeared today at the SPAK.

After three hours of testimony, Rajmonda Nika told reporters after leaving SPAK that: “I provided some explanations and some new facts”.

Asked about an audio recording that they claim to be in possession, Rajmonda Nika said that they will hand it over at a later time.

Meanwhile, Mark Nika demands that SPAK investigates who gave the order to open fire on the protesters.

“SPAK is out of politics and I am convinced that it will fully clarify the matter. Arta Hoxha has the tape. We will give it to SPAK. I don’t want to go into details, but we want the prosecution to ask and find out who gave the order for the use of weapons. The investigation should focus even on who deleted the evidence. The commanders of those who opened fire must be found because those who opened fire are the soldiers. It was assassination in cooperation”, said Mark Nika.

SPAK registered on July 15 the criminal proceedings for the “January 21” file.

It happened after the High Court, at the request of the family members of Aleks Nika, decided that SPAK should investigate this case.

Aleks Nika’s family members requested the opening of the investigation all the way to Strasbourg, and it was the European Court of Human Rights that stated that the investigation should be more complete.

After registering the case, SPAK decided to interrogate the two Nika’s relatives on the reasons and facts that support their request for the investigation to be carried out by SPAK. /p.s./

TIRANA, July 30 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama reacted to the issue raised by the Authority for Information on Former State Security Documents (AIDSSH) demanding legal changes on treatment of collaborators of the State Security under communism.

Rama wrote an article in social media on former State Security, democratic state and citizen with initials I.M.

Is the collaborator in question the ex-president, the ex-speaker, the ex-prime minister and the ex-December student who appeared in the meeting with Ramiz Alia?

PM Rama said that instead of opening and publishing the file himself, where he is accused of being a spy, Ilir Meta accuses and blackmails the Authority, the Chairwoman of whom he chose by himself in the post.

And instead of supporting the request of the Authority to change the law that prevents the opening of the files of politicians who have been verified as collaborators, Meta complains to the Speaker of the Assembly with a harsh language.

On the other hand, I think that the Assembly should discuss the idea that former State Security spies should become subjects of the Law on the Purity of Figure of the Elected People (otherwise known as the Decriminalization Law), concluded Rama./p.s./

TIRANA, October 18 /ATA/ In context of curing the past, the Authority for Information on Former State Security Documents has declassified the State Security file in the Albanian Radio-Television.

The file carries even reports that have to do with reality and propaganda.

Thus, there is a piece of information dating to June 1978. The journalist spread in his broadcast the information published in the “New Albania” magazine, which spoke of 60 thousand unemployed women in Albania, according to a speech held in the party Congress.

According to the information, the figure was of a secret nature and should not have been spread, because the data was also used by foreign news agencies.

The statistics declared in the congress, published in the magazine and spread through radio waves was considered an escalated error. The journalist was investigated and punished precisely because he faithfully conveyed the data and was dismissed from office.

The Authority invites interested parties to get acquainted with this file, in accordance with Law 45/2015 as amended, by applying online. /j.p/p.s./

TIRANA, June 14 /ATA/ The Authority for Information on Former State Security Documents declassified the former State Security file for the “Vatra” (The Hearth), the Pan-Albanian Federation of America.

“Albanian propaganda tries to tarnish the national policy of the Albanian Communist Party,” is read in the three-volume dossier on the “Vatra”, monitored for decades by the State Security, with over 800 pages of documentation.

The organization “Vatra” was formally established on June 13, 1912 in Boston, USA. In a few years, it managed to have at least 65 branches throughout the country. The organization was the first to lobby for the Albanian cause to the then U.S. President Wilson.

“Vatra” gathered well-known personalities around the cause, from Fan Noli and the publisher of the “Dielli” Konica, to Kristo Kirka, Kristo Floqi, Kostë Çekrezi, Koço Kotta, Kole Tromara and others.

Over the years, “Vatra” has been active in the Albanian cause and has maintained strong ties with the motherland. Today, the Pan-Albanian Federation “Vatra”, more than a century after its establishment, continues its mission of helping between them and love for the nation, protection of the right, human dignity and national interests of Albania.

The file can be made available to researchers, in accordance with the amended law 45/2015 and the guide for media researchers. /j.p/p.s./

The file can be made available to researchers, in accordance with the amended law 45/2015 and the guide for researchers and media.

The file of the Object of Special Importance for the Opera and Ballet Theater, with two files, was declassified on 2.04.2021.
