“The Otorhinolaryngology service has fully started functioning, with the performance of the first surgical interventions,” Minister Manastirliu said.

In her remarks, Minister Manastirliu underlined the excellent cooperation between the Albanian and Turkish teams in providing services to patients in this hospital.

“Another new service is being provided in the Fier Memorial Hospital, the Otorhinolaryngology service which has fully started functioning, with the performance of the first surgical interventions. Excellent collaboration of dr. Melih Cayonu and dr. Migena Gjura in providing a high level ORL service for the inhabitants of the southern country,” Minister Manastirliu said. //a.i/

In a statement to the Albanian Telegraphic Agency-ATA, the director of the Regional Memorial Hospital of Fier, Rudina Degjoni informed about this important intervention, performed in collaboration with Turkish and Albanian doctors.

Degjoni told ATA that, so far 20 surgeries have been performed in this hospital. There are over 550 patients who have received service so far in the Memorial Hospital Fier.

Fier Memorial Hospital will serve as a center of excellence, while a joint Albanian-Turkish medical and nursing staff will perform operation, as well.

Fier Regional Memorial Hospital, built in record time, an investment of the Republic of Turkey, will provide tertiary level services for the entire southern region. With a capacity of 150 beds, the hospital autonomy model will be applied for the first time in this hospital.

Fier Regional Memorial Hospital will provide emergency services, surgery, neuro-surgery, cardiovascular surgery, internal medicine, cardiology, neurology, infectious diseases, pneumology, orthopedics and traumatology services. //a.i/
