Gonxhja meets FIA president on development of motorsport in Albania

TIRANA, January 29 /ATA/ Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation Blendi Gonxhja received today FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem.

Gonxhja said that during this meeting they talked on development of motorsport in Albania, with a special focus on the future of the Auto Moto Park in Elbasan.

“We discussed crucial topics such as education on road safety and the development of motorsport in Albania, with a special focus on the future of the Auto Moto Park in Elbasan. We agreed on the enthusiastic support of the FIA for the development of human capacities with scholarships dedicated to engineering, legal and motorsports profiles in anticipation of implementation of the AMP project”, said the minister.

Minister Gonxhja announced that a major international, multidisciplinary, FIA motorsports event will take place soon in Albania.

“Together, we are moving towards a safer and more progressive automotive landscape for the country”, he said. /p.s./

Rama receives FIA president: Auto Moto Park in Elbasan, a new engine of economy and tourism

TIRANA, January 29/ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama received today FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem at the Premier’s Office.

Rama wrote in a post in the social media that the talks focused on the large project of the Elbasan Automotive Park, which will give Albania another new engine of economy and tourism, including Formula One and other international competitions.

Auto Moto Park in Elbasan marks a historic step for Albanian motoring and motoring activities, as well as for the promotion of motorsport culture in Albania.

The first Albanian circuit is under construction with a 5.3 km track and over an area of 500,000+ m² in the city of Elbasan, according to FIA, FIM and CIK standards.

The motor park in Elbasan will become an attractive destination for foreign racers and will boost tourism and the local economy, transforming Albania into the epicenter of the region for the organization of motorsport events./p.s./

FIA senior representatives visit Automotopark Albania construction site

TIRANA, April 20 /ATA/ Senior representatives of the International Automobile Federation FIA, FIA Vice President for MotorSport, European Area, Manuel Aviño, FIA Project Manager Guido Gaetani D’Aragona and FIA Safety Officer for Circuits Carlos Soteras, in the presence of President of Automobile Club Albania Niko Leka inspected on Thursday the works for construction of Automotopark Albania, in Krasta, Elbasan.

According to General Director of the Road Transport Service Blendi Gonxhja, the work has already started while there are opened the connecting infrastructure and river protection sites.

“The FIA representatives will hold discussions with the design studio Wurz Design Test & Training on the homologation steps as well as the sharing of experience for the structuring and administration of the Agency of Police Supervision and the trainings from the FIA”, said Gonxhja.

Elbasan Motor Park marks a historic step for Albanian motoring.

The project aims to create the first multi-functional complex for the development of various automotive sectors, and not only. An area that would bring for the first time the culture of motorsport in conditions of complete safety in Albania, which would enable the development of national, regional and international competitions, on asphalt and off-road. This will enable the identification and promotion of new talents in motorsport, all according to the standards set by the FIA and FIM. /p.s./
