The conference was organized by the Italian Embassy, ​​in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Culture and the Guardia di Finanza Expert in Tirana.

The assassination of the two judges shook the conscience of the public opinion.

“30 years later, it is our duty to keep alive the memory of the victims and to honor their great moral values conveying their lessons”, it is said in the announcement of the Italian embassy.

The conference is a moment of reflection on the Mafia phenomenon.

The conference “Falcone and Borsellino, 30 years later” aims to combine memory and actuality in contrast to the criminal mafia phenomenon and the culture that feeds it, promoting an active civic pedagogy, based on the inspiring ideals and principles of the Italian Constitution.

The participants to the conference also heard online the testimony of Salvatore Borsellino, the judge’s brother who was killed by the mafia in the Via D’Amelio massacre.

The discussion was moderated by Giancarlo Costabile, Professor of the History of Education for Democracy and Legality at the University of Calabria./p.s./
