According to data published by the Bank of Albania, this sector for the third quarter of this year topped the ranking of FDI with 88 million euros, 66% more compared to the same period a year ago.

Meanwhile, for the 9-month period, investments in the extractive industry sector reached 202 million euros.
Compared to a year ago, FDI increased on an annual basis by 36%.

The extractive industry ranks second, after real estate, in attracting foreign investments for 2022.
Enterprises in this sector have reinvested in the activity of crude oil extraction.

“The increase in the prices of crude oil in the international markets this year seems to have driven the increase of foreign investments in oil extraction in Albania,” according to the Bank of Albania.
