The Minister of Economy, Culture, and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhja, presented the “Expo Albania” project at a conference held in Tirana, describing it as one of the “gems” in the collection of investments expected to be implemented through the AIC.

“It will be the most important hub for fairs and exhibitions in the Balkans and will include Albania in the map of a rapidly growing industry: that of fairs and exhibitions,” the minister said.

The creation of this new development hub for the city, in an area near Tirana, Minister Gonxhja says, will serve to boost employment and development in the territory of the capital.

On the other hand, the minister also elaborated on the “Durana Technopark” project, another initiative of the AIC.

“In March, we proposed and successfully finalized the transfer of 140,000 square meters of site in Xhafzotaj, owned by the Corporation, for the development of this major project. We have also actively supported the growth of AIC’s asset portfolio, initiating the transfer of 28 state properties and sites for development and investment,” he said.

According to him, the implementation of “Expo Albania,” “Durana Technopark,” and other projects of the Albanian Investment Corporation will help further consolidate this positive trend in our economy, boost foreign investments, employment, and innovation, improve the quality of public services to citizens, and transform Tirana, along with Albania, into a hub for the most progressive architectural projects.

The fair and exhibition industry, he said, currently represents a market valued at tens of billions of euros and approximately 35,000 activities per year, growing rapidly—indeed, three times more than five years ago.
