TIRANA, Jan 11 /ATA/ Minister of Justice, Ulsi Manja, said on Wednesday that the draft law “On fiscal and criminal amnesty” is being consulted with experts from the European Union and will be made available for public consultation thereafter.

During the press conference on the work analysis for 2022, Manja emphasized that the EU expert has visited Tirana and will come up with a report on the law.

He assured that the subjects of fiscal and criminal amnesty will be the citizens who have done an honest work for 32 years.

“This project is intended to legalize what Albanians have earned through their honest work outside and inside Albania in these 32 years. We are in discussions with the EU. We are in no hurry because we want to push through parliament a law that closes all the paths for those concerns that arise from this law, which are mainly related to money laundering. In our view, the law has all the mechanisms to close the paths for money laundering from the world of crime. At the beginning of December, an expert of EU came to Tirana and contacted the Albanian authorities and will compile a report regarding the law,” said Manja.
