TIRANA, June 7 /ATA/ The government will give a full refund to the industrial, agro-industrial or greenhouse production sectors for the gas excise.

Currently, the law provides for the reimbursement of hydrocarbons, i.e. diesel and fuel oil, which is used for heating or industrial processes.

Minister of Finance and Economy, Delina Ibrahimaj, told a media briefing after the meeting of the Council of Ministers, that this measure is intended to support businesses operating in the manufacturing sector.

“During the last years, many companies, in a bid to protect the environment and transition away from those products that have high carbon emissions, have started using gas, and this is the reason that we, in the decision of the Council of Ministers, pursuant to the law, included the full refund of excise tax on gas for these technological processes,” said Ibrahimaj.
