TIRANA, Nov 29 /ATA/ Revenues in excise duty collections during the January-October period amounted to 52.5 billion lek.

According to the report on fiscal indicators published by the Ministry of Finance, revenues in excise collections amount to 4.4 billion lek, which is 9.3% higher than the same period in 2023.

These revenues, according to the Ministry of Finance, amount to 646 million lek, or 1.6% higher than the excise plan for the first eight months of 2024.

Excise collections for 2024 are expected to generate 64.3 billion lek in the budget, 5.9 billion lek more than in 2023.

In the 2025 draft budget, which is expected to be approved item by item in the Parliament on Monday, revenue from excise duties is projected to be 66.984 million lek, or 2.6 billion lek more than the forecast for 2024.

The main factors influencing the forecast for excise revenues include the boost in revenues from excise collections, higher import volumes and consumption of goods like fuels, cigarettes, alcoholic beverages, wine, and beer, as well as the increase in excise rates due to the tobacco excise hike schedule.
