TIRANA, Feb 9 /ATA/ As part of the program for the temporary exhibition “Trials” staged in partnership with the Albanian Telegraphic Agency, the “Marubi” National Museum of Photography held a conversation with Tea Çuni and Pjerin Mirdita.

The conversation was entitled “Topography of the places of remembrance in the city of Shkodra.” This first conversation presented one of the first institutions of remembrance in Albania, the “Place of Testimony and Memory”, a museum conceived in the premises of the former Internal Security Branch of Shkodra, the building that was confiscated by the communist regime from the Franciscan fathers of that time.
Tea Çuni, former employee at this institution, today head of the communication and promotion sector at the “Marubi” Museum, as well as Pjerin Mirdita, Head of the “Place of Testimony and Memory” museum, presented the first steps of building an exhibition space, which will trace the first wave of communist persecutions through documents and artifacts, a period that also coincides with the time frame of the “Trials” exhibition.

Starting from this space and moving on to the Map of Prisons of Shkodra, the conversation intends to develop a topography of the places of remembrance together with the stories and narration of each one of them, who have marked, in an indelible fashion, the memory of the city itself.
