TIRANA, Aug 23 /ATA/ – Arjel Marku has spent the past six years running his family-owned agritourism venture, the “Dini” guesthouse, in Katund i Vjetër, Rubik, north-western region of Mirdita, offering visitors an authentic taste of rural Albania.

Guests enjoy traditional dishes made from locally sourced ingredients and recipes passed down through generations, showcasing the rich flavors of products labeled “Made in Albania,” cultivated by the family and neighboring farmers.

Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Anila Denaj shared photos from the guesthouse on social media on Saturday, highlighting the warm, family-style hospitality that makes each stay a memorable experience.

Denaj emphasized that under the National Investment Scheme, farmers can access financing at just 2% interest through a combination of 50% grants, soft loans, and a sovereign guarantee covering up to 70% of collateral. She added that mountain areas benefit from additional support through the “Mountain Package.”

Founded in 2018, the “Dini” guesthouse is certified for organic agritourism. Marku noted that 70% of the ingredients come from surrounding areas, while the remainder is grown on the family property.

“The guesthouse is conveniently located near the capital, making it accessible for many visitors. Shengjin and Talja are also only 25 km away,” he said.

According to Marku, the majority of international visitors hail from the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, and Germany, drawn by the combination of authentic cuisine, hands-on experiences, and the scenic rural environment.
