How can the new European Political Community help the European Union and its neighbours strengthen the continent’s security landscape amid wider geopolitical shifts? This was the main topic of the session hosted by Politico’s journalist Jamil Anderlini.

Prime Minister Rama welcomed the French proposal on the new European Political Community, stating that the European Union is the only reality and destination for Albania and whole region.

“We are not talking about former communist states, but I am talking about the founders. This is the reality, but for us, for me, the EU is the only destination,” PM Rama said.

The government head underlined that building a state similar to the EU member states is of a paramount importance.

“Whatever we are asked for, even though we may never arrive there, what matters most is that we build a state similar to the EU with genuine institutions, true accountability and so and so forth,” he said.
