The EU Delegation in Tirana said in a release that the discussion focused on the central role of prosecution offices in Albania’s judiciary after the justice reform.

“Both commended the role of SPAK, seen as a game-changer in the fight against corruption and organised crime, by strengthening the rule of law and public trust,” the Delegation said.

According to the EU Delegation, “they stressed the necessity to further support the Special Prosecution Office and the General Prosecution Office and to ensure they have the needed resources.”

“They also underlined the importance of improving judicial cooperation with EU Member States, considering Albania a committed partner in the fight against transnational crime,” the Delegation concluded in its statement on the social media.
