Speaking on his “Flasim” podcast (Let’s Talk), the government head stressed that EU negotiation chapters 11, 12 and 13, covering agriculture and food safety, are central to Albania’s accession process.

“It will be a demanding challenge, but what we have achieved over the past decade gives us confidence that we can complete negotiations by the end of 2027,” Rama said.

He noted that a decade ago only about 5,600 farmers received limited state support, compared with 67,500 farmers today who benefit annually from what he described as tangible financial assistance.

Rama added that Albanian agricultural exports have expanded significantly, with products now reaching around 80 countries and exports exceeding €500 million, while the trade deficit in food products has narrowed sharply.

“EuroAgro Albania is not just another website,” Rama said. “It is a working instrument – a step-by-step guide on standards, deadlines and obligations, and an open dialogue channel for farmers and businesses on the road to EU membership.”
