The meeting was postponed following a request from the head of the Democratic Party’s parliamentary group, Gazment Bardhi, who asked for time to allow the deputies to review the evidence presented by the majority for their proposed suspension.

“Any deputy who has signed for the suspension of a mandate—whether for 60, 30, or 10 days—must act responsibly. They should provide evidence and refrain from making accusations using the State Security era-like terminology,” Bardhi said.
Bardhi argued that the expulsion request targets deputies who have remained uninvolved in Parliament.
“You’re trying to silence the opposition because you want a one-party legislature. Admit it: your aim was to block us in the Immunity Council, which is why you scheduled the meeting at 9 a.m. I therefore propose postponing the session to next week so that each deputy can review the evidence,” he said.
Yesterday, the Socialist Party parliamentary group filed a request in Parliament seeking disciplinary action against opposition deputies, following serious incidents during the plenary session.
