The Port of Durres is the first in the region to join ESPO, as an observer member, alongside the ports of Iceland, Israel and the United Kingdom.
The first virtual meeting held between the members of this organization was attended by the General Executive Director of APD, Pirro Vengu.
In his remarks, Vengu emphasized that the incomparable expertise of ESPO will help the Port of Durres in raising the standards of port services and strengthening the maritime sector in Albania.
“Membership in ESPO attaches great importance in the light of the opening of EU accession negotiations with Albania. At ESPO, the Port of Durrës will find a strong support to move forward with the major projects of the Albanian government in Durrës and Porto Romano,” Vengu added.
