TIRANA, Nov 13 /ATA/ The State Ministry for Entrepreneurship and Business Climate launched today the International Week of Entrepreneurship (GEW Albania), which will focus on increasing the interaction between all stakeholders, networking, diversifying alternative financing, strengthening the support ecosystem, but above all transforming the culture of doing business with access to global innovations and creating added value for the economy.

The Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and Business Climate, Delina Ibrahimaj, announced that the government’s support and attention is unconditional towards innovative entrepreneurship and the improvement of the economic environment, through financial access with grant schemes, the development of facilitating capacities, as well as the training of talents, serving a primary purpose, that of sustainable economic growth.

The International Week of Entrepreneurship, she pointed out, will serve to inspire, motivate, strengthen and create the right connections in the field of entrepreneurship, with mentors, partners, those who already have a history of success.

More than 500 participants will have the opportunity to learn about inspiring stories, engage in critical discussions, network with many professionals.

“Today we are more digitized than ever. Every day there are more tourists in our cities, but we need to automate our processes to manage the flow, construction sites are everywhere, but buildings need to be smarter and more energy efficient, access to foreign markets is more easy, but we must prepare to create economic value for them, and most importantly, knowledge must guide political and private decision-making in order to build an increasingly smart economy and society,” said Ibrahimaj.

Our future as an entrepreneurial nation, she emphasized, lies in our ability to transform information into knowledge and encourage the long-term national mission that will transform our economy over the next decade.

In Albania, there are about 127 thousand active businesses and this number has continued to grow year after year. The majority of businesses operate in the service sector and are mainly small businesses, followed by the trade and manufacturing sectors.

Although in the first steps of technology development, the minister said, Albania has many successful business stories that help us make our life easier, our city more accessible and that we are changing the philosophy of doing business.
