In the presence of Prime Minister Edi Rama, representatives from the following firms are presenting their projects today: COBE from Denmark, GO HASEGAWA & Associates from Japan, GROUPWORK from the United Kingdom, L’AUC from France, NIETO SOBEJANO from Spain, and ARCHEA Associati from Italy. The winning project will be announced at the end of the presentations.

At the beginning of the presentations, Prime Minister Rama praised this as another architectural marathon for the vision of developing a central area in Tirana.

“We’re back here in a very short period for another international competition, this time organized by the entity itself, aiming to implement a flagship development project in the center of Tirana,” said Rama.
As in previous instances, Rama mentioned, “We have requested that this development be subjected to a competition.”

“We are here with a jury, whose prestige stems from the exceptional architects present, who are not only invited from abroad but also play a key role in the country’s major urban transformations through their projects. I would like to thank the jury members who accepted our invitation to help provide an in-depth evaluation, and I also want to express my gratitude to all the studios that applied,” said Rama.

The Prime Minister emphasized that a significant number of studios had applied.
Rama emphasized that “this is another important milestone we aim to place on the country’s new path, a path where Tirana is the ‘engine’ of an epochal transformation, thanks to these developments that have involved an extraordinary number of international architects.”

“These developments have created an exceptional opportunity for local architects, as well as for all those passionate about architecture, to practice their profession in a country that has become an ‘open university.’ Thanks to not only these competitions but also partnerships with renowned international firms, they can acquire invaluable knowledge through collaboration with distinguished professionals in the field, opening up endless possibilities for future innovation,” added Rama.
