Berisha said at a press conference that “the international community had dismissed the elections as null and void 10 days before they were held.”

Berisha stated that “the international resolutions from the CDI, IDU, and EPP have openly condemned the state as being complicit with organized crime in clear and unequivocal terms. This is an indisputable fact.”

“This is one of the key reasons why the international center-right community harshly criticized on April 30, 2025, the elections scheduled to take place in Albania 10 days later,” Berisha said.

Berisha stated that “whoever reads the Valencia resolution will see that it informs both the international community and the Albanian public that there will be no genuine elections in Albania, but instead an electoral farce.”

Berisha said, “This is beyond question. Unlike any other election in history, I am not aware of any election being condemned 10 days before it takes place. I say this because the international community has never acted out of prejudice.”

Berisha stressed that “the electoral process was doomed and turned out to be an electoral farce.”

Berisha added that the Democratic Party seeks a caretaker government and early elections.
“Clearly, only early elections are acceptable. No question about it. A caretaker government with a defined agenda to resolve integration-related issues and ensure free and fair elections.”

“This is our demand, and we will fight for it alongside all our supporters and friends across Europe and the world,” Berisha concluded.
