State Election Commissioner Ilirjan Celibashi wrote in a post on social media that, during the meeting, he provided a thorough update on the preparations for the May 11, 2025 parliamentary elections, covering the registration process and the progress of out of country voting. He also addressed all issues of relevance with Zanier’s team.
According to Celibashi, the discussion also focused on measures to ensure the integrity of the process and the transparency of election administration.
Celibashi wrote that he provided a detailed overview of the institutional efforts, in collaboration with SPAK and the Prosecutor General’s Office, to fight electoral crimes and prevent the misuse of state resources during the campaign.
Afterwards, the OSCE/ODIHR Election Observation Mission held meetings with other bodies of the Central Election Commission, including the Regulatory Commission and the Appeals and Sanctions Commission, to ensure comprehensive and inclusive observation of the electoral process.
The CEC, Celibashi emphasized, “remains committed to a transparent and trustworthy electoral process.” /j.p/sm/
