“The President, as the Constitution stipulates, is the head of state and above all represents the unity of the people. This is that inspiration that should at the core of the process, ” said Alibeaj in a media statement.

According to him, the process should be comprehensive, transparent, not confined to an envelope.”

“The process must be transparent and comprehensive in the eyes of Albanians. We all know that in the 4th and 5th rounds, the President is elected by a majority vote. This should not be used as a tool to put it in the envelope and the rest to choose the envelope,” he said.

Alibeaj added that the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party will maintain its position on everything, on the process, on the output, on the criteria and everything else related to the President of the Republic.
