TIRANA, May  14 /ATA/ President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, accompanied by his spouse Armanda Begaj, cast the ballot on Sunday at the voting center in the “Kongresi i Lushnjes” school in Tirana.

In a media statement after the vote, Begaj said that “today is an important day in democracy, the election day. I did my duty as a citizen today. Of course, every citizen of the Republic of Albania eligible to vote has the opportunity to make his voice heard before his will is read and the power of his vote make a difference.”

“I have also put it simply in previous media appearances that these elections do not belong to political parties, but to the citizens and as such they should serve them,” said Begaj.
