TIRANA, July 12 /ATA/ About 500 young people, women and members of minorities joined the CEC’s voter education and information campaign ahead of next year’s elections.

The campaign, which took place from May 9 to July 10, was supported by the OSCE Presence, as part of its project “Support for reform and the electoral process in Albania”, funded by Sweden, Switzerland, the US Mission to the OSCE and Poland.

The first phase of the meetings targeted the students of the universities of Korça, Shkodra, Durrës, Elbasan and Vlora. They learned about the organization and functioning of the electoral administration and explored the possibilities for their involvement in various capacities in the 2025 general elections. During a simulation of the voting process, the students played the roles of electoral subjects, commissioners and voters, and discussed the steps of the voting process, filling out the ballots and administering the election material.
The second phase, carried out in cooperation with the Women’s Empowerment Network in Albania, targeted women and minorities in Laç, Gjirokastër, Berat, Pustec and Finiq. Discussions focused on ways to strengthen women’s representation in decision-making and increase their participation in elections. Experts from the CEC, the OSCE Network and Presence contributed to the discussions.
About 500 people participated in these activities, which were part of the OSCE Presence project “Support for reform and the electoral process in Albania”, financed by Sweden, Switzerland, the US Mission to the OSCE and Poland.
