The President, after getting familiar with several development projects, the work done by the municipality of Elbasan in cooperation with the community, praised this institution for the attention it devotes to the empowerment of civil society relying on community expertise and consultation in order to improve the lives of citizens.

“It was a pleasure to be in Elbasan, a city steeped in historical, cultural and industrial heritage, important for Albania of hardworking and generous people, sacrificing themselves for the well-being of their families,” the President said.

Afterwards, President Begaj talked with writers, artists and representatives of cultural life, in a meeting held in the city library, where he congratulated the staff for conserving the archival fund, the heritage of the books and access to knowledge. ”

“Elbasani, – the President said, – as the home of the Albanian language father, Kostandin Kristoforidhi, the city of education that has prepared teachers for Albania, Kosovo and North Macedonia for decades, deserves to become a mamor attraction for visitors. ”

“I appreciate the meeting with you as the most important contributors to language and culture. I stand in awe of all those who contribute to preservation of the Albanian language. Whoever chooses to dedicate himself to books gets rich and enriches Albania,” President Begaj said.
During the visit to Elbasan, the President attached high importance to the culture of dialogue and interreligious respect.

He met with representatives of different religious communities in Elbasan who run an Interreligious Cooperation Center, which is known for joint activation in community issues and promoting religious values.

One of these is the Peace March, a symbol of civic interaction of all religious faiths.
The President described it as a model of interfaith harmony among Albanians.
