Prime Minister Edi Rama announced today that this investment has not only enhanced the urban aesthetics of the area but, most importantly, ensures higher standards of food safety.

The new facility is designed to accommodate around 35 vendors, who have now moved on from difficult conditions to operate in modern and functional spaces.

“The new fruit and vegetable market in Region No. 1, Elbasan, offers vendors up-to-date facilities, allowing them to work in modern and fully functional spaces,” Rama said.

The facility is fully enclosed with glass, featuring efficient lighting and ideal conditions for storing and trading food products, all in compliance with hygiene and sanitary standards.

This project is seen as a concrete step toward formalizing the agricultural products market, ensuring dignity for vendors and safety for the citizens who shop there daily.
