During a conversation with the citizens of Elbasan, together with Prime Minister Edi Rama, Balla said that the government has made multiple investments in Elbasan with employment increasing twofold and investments turning this city into a tourist attraction.

“I would like to engage in a discussion at the regional level on the challenges ahead and in the light of Albania 2030 platform. Elbasan also has its platform under Albania 2030. If we look back, in 2013 it took 1 hour and 30 minutes to go from Elbasan to Gramsh, it only takes 45 minutes now and this axis can be used to continue towards Korça, without passing through Librazhd, ” – said Balla.

“If we go to Belsh, we see a transformation beyond recognition there. If we go to Cerrik, we see a clear example of good governance. Cerrik grappled with underinvestment during eight years under the local government of DP and LSI, while under the management of social local government now it has been transformed due to quality investments. It has had the government’s unsparing support through sustainable investments,” Balla said.

“In Librazhd, although the works done so far have come up to expectations, we do not have the magic wand to transform the whole region within 4 or 8 years. We have many transformative projects at hand. I am proud that the German government will invest in Elbasan like never before. EUR 13.8 million worth of investments have been concentrated in Elbasan, in sewers and water supply system, “- continued Balla.

“Tourism in Elbasan is another priority of the government. Right here is the Ethnographic Museum of Elbasan, also an old house nearby. The castle of Elbasan, which is the largest plain castle in the Balkans, is the epitome of Elbasani tourism, including the mosque, the cathedral, and the Jewish place of worship. The priorities of Elbasan for 2021-2025 are the bypass which is a necessity, also due to the great transformation of the infrastructure, and the railway line, part of a landmark project. We never see development of Elbasan disconnected from municipalities, including Peqin. Anyone who has enjoyed the traditional culinary delights of Peqin, can understand that it is also a tourist attraction of its own,” – underlined Balla.
