In her remarks, Ekonomi said that, “the crisis situation that has gripped all of Europe and the whole world is attributable to an unprecedented combination of crises. The energy crunch and the supply chain disruptions due to the war in Ukraine have slowed down trade relations across the continent, where the economies of countries have had an increased global interaction for a long time.”

Ekonomi said that, “as reported by INSTAT and confirmed by the Bank of Albania, inflation rate in February was 3.9% higher than a year ago and the group of food expenditures increased by 6.9%. While the group of transport expenditures increased by 10.4%.

“Published data show that Albania managed to have an economic growth last year of 8.5%, confirmed by international institutions; and our unemployment scale today is 11.4%; “Employment in this period has reached pre- earthquake level, and this is shown by the official records,” said Ekonomi.

“The BoA projections show that Albania expects to have an inflation rate of 6% this year. Also in our country all the forecasts made by looking at the international stock exchange show that in the first 6 months there will be no significant drop in the price of electricity, it is the other way around. ”

“The price of energy for households and small business continues to remain unchanged. The Albanian government did not increase the price of energy for families and small business, on the contrary, it subsidizes 80% of the energy bill for all these businesses”, said Ekonomi.

“All small businesses operating in Albania pay zero VAT and profit tax. While large businesses since 2014, pay the profit tax of 15%, because our guiding principle is: Whoever earns more, pays more,” said Ekonomi.
