“I wish you a happy Eid al – Adha with the first Eid prayer of Muslim believers at the new Mosque of Ballie in Elbasan,” PM wrote in a post on his social media account.

Muslim believers celebrate Eid al-Adha today, a day that marks the sacrifice of man in the name of faith and love for God.

All over the country, Muslim believers have started the celebration of this holy festival in the early hours of the morning by going to the mosques to perform Eid prayer.

In Tirana, hundreds of Muslim believers performed their prayer in “Scanderbeg” square, but also in other mosques of the capital.

Muslims around the world are celebrating Eid al-Adha, which means Festival of the Sacrifice. It often involves sacrificing an animal to commemorate the time the Prophet Ibrahim is believed to have passed a remarkable test of faith.
He was ordered by Allah to sacrifice his son – and as he was about to do so, the boy was exchanged for a ram.
